Mimic’s Doll: Q&A

Q: How do I keep my Mimic’s doll in clean and in storage?
A: Below are our suggestions to keep your doll clean and healthy
1. Keep it away from the daylight and dusts: Your doll can get discolored after been exposed under the sunshine for too long.
2. Avoid any water washing: All of our dolls are mostly hand-made and contain mechanical movement. Water washing is therefore not recommended
3. DIY steps for cleaning your doll:

a. Mix the baking soda in water. Put it in a bottle with sprinkle-nozzle
b. Spread the water on the doll (each time a small area)
c. Brush the area with a toothbrush and wipe it with a dry cloth
d. Repeat above steps to make your Mimic’s doll clean and healthy!

Q: Can my Mimic’s Doll easily get damaged or unshaped easily?
A: The Mimic's Dolls are mostly hand-made. As long as you use them under normal conditions and avoid any pulling, daylight and water washing, it should be fine.

Q: When do I receive my Mimic’s Doll after completed the order form?
A: It normally takes 15 working days to make a Mimic’s Doll (delivery time excluded). However, the actual delivery time can be extended depending on our order status. We will inform you rest details after the order procedure is completed. Don’t forget to send your order request earlier if you plan to have Mimic’s Doll as a special present!

Q: How similar does my Mimic’s Doll look like me?
A: The spirit of Mimic’s Doll is to create a cartoon-like doll based on the character’s features. If you are looking for a doll with detailed artwork and high imitation level, please do not place an order. Please also note that we do not offer any returning service as each Mimic’s Doll requires lots of handiwork and efforts to make.

Q: How do I use the voice recording/playing function?
A: As every Mimic’s Doll has a 15 seconds voice recording function, it is definitely the best messenger for every occasion! To use these functions:

Recording: hold the doll’s right hand while speaking into its mouth. Release it when you finish the recording.
Playing: press the doll’s left hand to play the message.
Remarks: For a humid environment, please replace the batteries every 6 months to protect the mechanical movement; for a long-term storage, please take the batteries off.

Q: Eh? Why doesn’t my Mimic's doll speak anymore?
A: If the doll’s voice is getting smaller, it means that it’s hungry! Please follow below instructions for changing the batteries:
1. Open the bottom of your Mimic’s Doll, you will see the battery movement under the Velcro
2. Take out the battery movement and open the case. You will see the batteries.
3. Purchase batteries required and replace them. Then your doll will speak as loud as it used to be!

Remarks:
If the voice can still not be played after the battery replacement, it is possible that your recorder is damaged.
However, please note that the recorder is not covered under our warranty as it is an extra gifted function.
What we suggest instead is to cut off the wire and withdraw the movement. So you can replace it with other small gifts (ex. rings, keys or a message card) as a special surprise for yourself or a friend.
